There are two installation types for Bluetooth profile drivers. Client-side installation. Server-side installation Client-side installations are for remote devices where the remote device advertises its services and the computer connects to it.
Examples include: mouse devices, keyboards, and printers. Server-side installations are where the computer advertises services and remote devices can connect to the computer to use those services. For example, a vendor could author a server-side installation to enable a PDA to print to a printer attached to the computer. These two installation types require different installation procedures. Installing a Client-side Profile Driver When a user wants to use a Bluetooth-enabled device, the user should bring the device within range of the computer and initiate a connection from the computer to the remote device. The following is the installation sequence for a client-side profile driver installation. To Install a Client-side Profile Driver.
Launch Bluetooth Devices in Control Panel to find all devices within range of the computer. Select the device to pair with. Pair (or bond) the device with the local radio. This may or may not involve a PIN exchange. The local radio issues an SDP inquiry to identify the services supported on the remote device.
The Found New Hardware Wizard searches for appropriate drivers on the local hard disk drive, and/or on Windows Update. If the Found New Hardware Wizard does not find an appropriate driver for the device, it prompts the user to insert the profile driver installation media that contains the profile driver's device setup information file (INF file). Installing a Server-side Profile Driver The Bluetooth driver stack supports service GUIDs as defined by the Bluetooth SIG, as well as custom GUIDs (that is, GUIDs that are not defined by the Bluetooth SIG).
To expose computer functionality that remote Bluetooth devices can use, you must write a user-mode installation application. The installation application must communicate with the Bluetooth driver stack to create a service GUID for the functionality to expose. Vendors specify the service GUID in the application and in their device installation INF file. The installation application must call the user-mode API BluetoothSetLocalServiceInfo.
However, before the application can call this API, the application must have the SELOADDRIVERNAME security privilege. The following code example demonstrates how to obtain this privilege. Note, the example does not demonstrate error handling.

Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select previous the version of Windows (Windows 8) from the drop down list. Let the driver install and then check the functionality. Method 2: I suggest you to install the latest Windows updates and check if this helps.

Click on Check for updates and install the latest windows updates. Kindly let us know the status of the issue to assist you further. Hi there, DISCLAIMER: If you break your computer, I am not responsible, etc. If you are comfortable with reformatting your computer, I strongly recommend the below. I have done this twice now for these reasons:. On this computer - as I was using a real Japanese keyboard with an English copy of Windows 7 I had to install a hotfix to make it work or it would be detected as a US keyboard and be unusable. Windows 10 killed the hotfix, and I could not get my keyboard to work at all - even when telling Windows 10 it was a Japanese keyboard it would use the US layout and be completely unusable.
On one of my laptops - the Samsung software never worked again after the upgrade - even reinstalling the Samsung stuff didn't work. Backlight stuck at 100%, no bluetooth either (same issue as you) After doing a fresh install, both systems work fine (other than the USB audio recording issue in the giant thread you have probably seen in the same forum).
After upgrading to Windows 10, you received a digital entitlement on your device. I strongly recommend backing up your data, then performing a clean install (wipe the disk). You will need 2 USB sticks, one must be at least 4GB in size.
To prepare yourself for this:. Required: Download all manufacturer drivers for your computer onto a USB memory stick. Do this first because there is no guarentee that Windows 10 will have a built in driver for your wireless / ethernet adaptor when you reinstall it. Volkswagen navigation rns2 cd download.
Optional: Download any drivers you will need for other devices now (for convenience). Required: Make a note of what software you have installed, as you will be reinstalling it. Pay particular care to software that has activation (e.g. Rosetta Stone), you may need to deactivate them first. Required: Create a USB bootable Windows 10 installer using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool ( ). DO NOT run this tool on the USB stick you put your drivers on. Required: Back up all of your data.
If your motherboard supports UEFI, now is a great time to enable it too perhaps - you will get faster booting times. But that is complicated and I wont cover it here unless you ask. (You would need to change the boot drive type to GPT before doing that). Then once you are ready, boot from that USB media, and perform a clean installation of Windows 10. You will need to say ' I want a clean installation' and then use Drive Options - Advanced and delete all of the partitions on your boot disk (yes, all of them!), then choose the free unallocated space and tell Windows to install there.
It will automatically partition the disk correctly for you. Windows will ask for a product key. Click 'Skip'. Later on, it will detect the digital entitlement and activate. Do not worry about that. Once Windows finishes installing and you login for the first time, perform these steps in this order:.
First, allow Windows 10 to try to connect to the Internet and install drivers by itself. If you have a high end GPU like an nvidia 970, you may notice it telling you that it is doing this for you.
Leave it to sit on the desktop for 30 minutes. Insert your USB media with your drivers and install the chipset drivers first from your motherboard / computer manufacturer. Install the remainder of the motherboard / computer manufacturer drivers. Reboot again. Now your PC should be useable - you can proceed with installing drivers for anything else you use, putting your data and programs back.
2018-02-10 TIP OF THE DAYWhen you install a new device, Windows 7 automatically configures it so it can work perfectly with all the other devices that are already installed on your PC. The system also sets up a unique configuration, that include direct memory access channels and other requirements needed for the proper functioning of your newly acquired device along with all the other devices on the Machine. A conflict between those resources may occur in case your new driver overlaps some of the resources that are already allocated to one of your older drivers.
This conflict can be resolved by updating the driver, and in some cases by uninstalling the new driver and reinstalling it anew.check out these updated drivers. After installing the latest windows update, I've found that windows no longer picks up my microsoft bluetooth transceiver. I know it was working fine before the upgrade as I was reconfiguring my mouse (ms 8000 desktop) just before reboot. I know that the windows bluetooth software is working because it picks picks up my Blue Diamond dongle immediately. To confuse things more my ms wireless entertainment desktop is working fine even though I cannot detect the ms txcvr. System details: Acer Aspire X3810 Duo Core E7400 4GB, 1TB, Windows 7 Home Premium, Avast Free Antivirus 5.0.667 I'd be interested to find out if anyone else has the same problem or if anyone know a fix.
Windows 7 and bluetooth: they broke a beautiful thing. Interesting that the Diamond dongle is working. Can you tell us the model number so we'll know of another dongle that actually works with Win7? I haven't even gotten that far yet. About getting the MS mouse dongle to work.
It sounds like you need to uninstall the most recent updates. I hope you have backups. Your options: 1.Uninstall the recent updates one by one and see which is the guilty sucker. (StartSearch for: View installed updates.) Leave it uninstalled and report it to Microsoft. If you're having trouble finding the most recent updates use a program called Revo Uninstaller and sort them by date and you'll see your most recent installs.
(In the options you'll need to enable 'show system updates' and possibly advanced mode.) You may be able to see the updates in Windows Programs and Features uninstaller but it doesn't always, or reliably, show the date. If you have system restore enabled try restoring to the date of the updates. Then reinstall the updates again one at a time. If you created a backup disk image restore that. If you use Erunt to backup registry points, restore to the previous date of the Windows update - September 17th?
Note: if you do this you should still try to uninstall the update(s) first if possible, because the files will still be changed. Only the registry is restored with Erunt.
So your computer might not be happy about this. Check for a driver update from the mouse's website directly. See if you have the option for Windows to check for device driver updates enabled and check for an update to the bluetooth driver from Microsoft. (Under the Check for Updates screen click Change SettingsGive me recommended updates the same way. Then check for updates again.) 7.

Search for an update manually on the Microsoft Update Catalog. Use Internet Explorer only and go to 8. If you can't get an answer from the Microsoft support site, you can try a Repair Install, or try a fresh reinstall of Windows after going through the Easy Transfer Wizard to save some of your Windows settings - Last resort and a pain in the neck!

I feel for you! This is why I choose to stay away from Windows updates for the most part. I regret it every time. When I use them I do a complete backup image using Drive Image Xml or similar program first.
Sorry for the overly detailed answer but I wanted to be helpful to newbies who might read this. Have a built-in bluetooth in my laptop and a bluetooth dongle in my desktop. Both now work with my iphone and other bluetooth headsets. Here's what you need to do: - Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from this works for both Vista and Windows 7.
I've tried it on both. Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do: - Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'. You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' - Right-Click it and click on 'Update Driver Software' -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
Click 'Browse My Computer for Driver Software' button. Click 'Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer'. Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another.
In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft. From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name 'Windows Mobile-Based Device Support' with different driver versions. Select one or the latest. Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'. There are few more things that you want to pay attention to.
If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message. I hope this will help you guys fix your bluetooth problem with Windows 7. I've a brand new Dell lattitude 5530 with a Dell wireless 380 Bluetooth Card. I've downloded the driver module recommended by the Dell driver support webpage when I supplied my Sevice Tag. Hi CathEnr, Let me know the operating system installed on the computer so that I can help you better. Uninstall Bluetooth drivers from Device manager (windows 8):.
From the Start screen, swipe up and tap the All apps icon. If you have a mouse, right-click on the Start screen and then click All apps. Once on the Apps screen, scroll or swipe to the right until you see the Windows System heading. Tap or click on Control Panel, located under Windows System. Windows 8 will bring up the Desktop and automatically open the Control Panel. Tap or click on the Hardware and Sound link. Note: You won't see Hardware and Sound if your Control Panel view is set to Large icons or Small icons.
In the Hardware and Sound window, click or tap Device Manager, located under the Devices and Printers heading. In the “Device Manager” window, click the plus sign next to “Bluetooth” to expand it.
Under “Bluetooth”, right click the Bluetooth device and click “Uninstall”. Check the box “Delete driver software for this device”, click ok and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the Bluetooth driver.
Restart the computer. Now install the Bluetooth drivers from the following link (Windows 8 ): Awaiting your response! Hi CathEnr, Thank you for confirming the operating system.
For windows 7, follow below steps to uninstall and reinstall Bluetooth drivers:. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel. Click on the System and Security link. In the System and Security window, click on the Device Manager link located under the System heading.
Restart the computer and install the Bluetooth drivers from the below link: Awaiting your response! I am having the same issue.
I have a new M4700, running Windows 7 Enterprise (64-Bit). I have tried installing both the link you have above as well as the latest version NetworkApplication9CP1NWN6.5.1.4000A02.EXE. The module still does not work after this. I tried following your last steps, but neithr of those files exist on my system after running the installation programs. There seem to be numerous people with this issue upon doing various Google searches. Do you have a workable solution?
I would really like to get my new workstation docked and be able to use my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, by I cannot because it will not install the module. I tried installing other modules that matched the Hardware ID: USB VID413C&PID8197 which is the ID of my Dell Wireless Bluetooth 380 module, like the ALPS Integrated Bluetooth Device. I was able to connect a BT mouse, that worked for about 15 seconds before it stopped. Then when I tried to connect my keyboard, it found, connected, then disappeared within 5 seconds. When I tried to connect to it a second time, I got the blue screen of death. I uninstalled the ALPS driver after that.
Yep I have a Latitude e6430 running Win7 x64 (with the Dell Wireless 380 Bluetooth 4.0 Module v6.5.1.4000A02). I have 2 of the 5-button Logitech (rebranded as Dell) travel mice (a black and a white) D P/N PU705. When I first got this laptop I paired both of these mice just fine.
Then out of the blue they stopped working. I was able to remove them and re-pair them a few times, but now they won't complete the pair.
When I try to add the mice they show up, and I get the balloon that the driver installed successfully. I see the HID-compliant Mouse in Device Manager appear and disappear a few times while the blue light on the mouse continues to flash. Eventually the HID-compliant Mouse disappears for good and the blue light continues to flash for a few more seconds and then the mouse eventually gives up. This is a work laptop and it's the second one I have had that showed this issue (the first one was already returned to Dell). THIS IS INEXCUSABLE. There are LOADS of folks stuck. To make matters worse, most of them are trying to use Dell (re)branded peripherals.
I still cannot get the Dell install to even install anything, But I did find a solution today. I found an M4700 Windows 7 CAB file today that has all of the driver files on it.
The bluetooth driver is the older version A01, but it works. I was able to install the driver by manually picking it from the list.
I then thought, since it is working, I should be able to update it. The Dell Install File would still not install any driver files or update the driver, even though it said it was complete. Here is the link to the CAB file for those who might be interested. Just extract the files using something like WinZip or WinRAR. The driver files can be found in the m4700 win7 x64 network X7R76A00-00 production Windows7-x64 folder after you extract the CAB file.
